"Green Lily"

I wanted to capture with wild strokes of pastel and oil a gnome named Green Lily, small with rosy cheeks, who lives in my imagination and in the jungle where the big leaves move while all the others remain still. “That’s Green Lily,” I tell my son, and he smiles in disbelief, but then I see his eyes widen as he searches for it. The magic of imagination, which carries tenderness within it, is what keeps my brush alive.
